Section 106 Funding 

The Trustees are delighted to share with you that Great Glen Village Hall Charity was awarded £369,410 Section 106 grant funding at the Harborough District Council Grants Cabinet Meeting on 17th December 2024.

This will pay for a new roof, rewiring, a new heating system, dry wall lining (insulation), replacement floor, a new kitchen, refitting the toilets and Lily Parrington Room and new windows.

Receiving the funding was the result of a long application process including submission of a Business Plan and associated documents.  This was facilitated by our Chair, Michelle South, with support from our Treasurer, Bill Glasper.  The Trustees extend their thanks to Michelle and Bill for all their hard work.

Harborough District Council will be guiding and monitoring the process throughout.

Before the work can start, we need to get detailed drawings from our Architect and put the work out to tender, followed by the appointment of a builder and Project Manager.

​

The hall will need to close for a while for this work to take place.  Regular users have been aware that this will happen from the outset and will be kept up to date.  At this point we are planning to keep the Hall open for hire to the end of April.  We will keep you updated on progress.
